Pet’s Annual Veterinary Checkup

At Orchard Hills Animal Hospital, your pet’s annual veterinary check-up starts with a complete physical exam, which includes a thorough investigation of your pet’s head, body, limbs, tail, and all his or her assorted cavities. Based on the exam findings and the history you provide, you and the veterinarian will decide on a course of action for your pet. Sometimes the visit is as simple as performing a routine fecal exam and catching up on vaccines. Sometimes more extensive work is needed, like X-rays, lab work, or an ultrasound. A procedure like a dental cleaning or a surgery may need to be scheduled. Your veterinarian will take the time to explain everything he or she has discovered during your pet’s physical exam, will educate you about it, and will help you make an informed decision that you are comfortable with.

The veterinarians at Orchard Hills Animal Hospital have an excellent network of specialists in the Portland, Oregon and Vancouver, Washington area who we can refer you to. In the event your pet needs more specialized care than we can provide, we can readily refer you to specialists in animal cardiology, ophthalmology, cancer, internal medicine, surgery, critical care, neurology and more!

Keep in mind that our goal is to help you make your pet as healthy as possible. We want you to have him or her around as long as you can! We want you to see us as a resource for you for your pet.
